Greg Smith

Gregory Smith is MedMatica’s Managed Services and Epic Practice Director and has over 20 years of experience in the electronic health record (EHR) field. For the majority of his career, Greg assisted organizations in their strategy, organization governance, and project implementation of electronic health records. The last 15 years have been primarily with clients implementing Epic. Greg joined MedMatica, after 12 years of managing his own business and partnering with multiple consulting groups and healthcare organizations in the field of electronic health records. He has been the program director for three complete Epic implementations along with supporting numerous organizations with their selection, strategy, organizational setup, project set up, and total cost of implementation. Greg also has been very involved in Epic Connect strategies. Greg’s role as Epic Practice Director is to support MedMatica’s clients in their Epic EHR strategies, project initiation, project implementations, and optimization of their Epic system. Greg also will assist with EHR system strategies for Epic Connect initiatives and Merger and Acquisition of EHR solutions. Greg manages our team of experienced Epic Consultants. Team members hold multiple Epic certifications and have successfully supported Epic implementations acting as program directors, project managers, analysts, operational SME’s/transformation experts, training delivery/content development, and Go-Live support.

Bruce Adler

Bruce Adler brings over 30 years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management operational performance improvement. In this role, Bruce is responsible for leading revenue cycle consulting projects from operational assessments to complete organizational and process improvement transformations. Bruce served as the engagement leader, helping a major Northeastern Health System develop a revenue cycle “road map” and implement recommendations leading to performance excellence in all areas of the revenue cycle. The focus included access care performance improvement by developing a shared service model supporting business services. The transformation included process redesign, organizational change, and improved technology utilization. Adler developed, and has implemented, an industry cutting edge program to support EMTALA compliant point-of-service collections in the Emergency Room. He formerly served as National Practice Leader for Revenue Cycle Management at Weiser Mazars LLP. While there, he developed revised access care models, implemented point-of-service collection programs, chaired denial mitigation workgroups, and performed complete revenue cycle transformation projects. He was also a principal at KPMG leading the Northeast Revenue Cycle Practice, as well as national responsibility for revenue cycle management methodology and engagement services. Adler received his Bachelor of Arts in Social and Behavioral Science from Ohio State University and his Master of Business Administration, Finance from Hofstra University. He spent more than a decade in the Finance and Revenue Cycle Departments of major hospitals, including Gracie Square Hospital, Montefiore Medical Center, and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Melody Turner

Melody Turner is a Director of Revenue Cycle Consulting for MedMatica Consulting Associates and has over 20 years of Healthcare Revenue Cycle experience. For the majority of her career, she has assisted Healthcare clients in addressing all aspects of the revenue cycle and supporting IT challenges and needs. She joined MedMatica in 2020 after spending over twenty years as an Executive Director and Principal for the industry’s leading healthcare consultancies, including EY, PYA, and DHG. Early in her career, Melody worked with Hospital Corporation of America as a Business Office Director for multiple behavioral health and med/surg facilities. As a proven Executive, Melody has held a variety of management roles, including service delivery, sales, and operations. Her consulting experience includes strong Revenue Cycle Transformation skills from the point of Scheduling through account resolution, establishing CBO and Shared Service Centers, as well as workflow support for IT conversions and implementations. Melody holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the University of Tennessee.

In this role, Stephen is responsible for both managing and supporting MedMatica’s Revenue Cycle engagements across the practice. His hands-on approach to daily operations has resulted in successfully driving financial performance for clients and healthcare organizations across the country. He is experienced in revenue cycle assessments, implementations, workflow optimization and redesign, growth strategy and cost containment initiatives, and leading Patient Financial Service and point-of-service collection teams. In previous analytical roles, Stephen supported clients in building KPI and productivity trend reports, identifying breakdowns in billing and collection functions, identifying root cause issues, and facilitating change management workgroups. Stephen received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia College and is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping, hiking, and rafting in Denver, Colorado.
